cutesie couples

this is part of the fun meme ,TGIF, hosted by Ginger at GReads! (which is a pretty great blog, if i do say so myself). each friday she hosts a question that the literary lovers in the world can ponder. this week, the lovely Ginger asks:

Mr & Mrs: Who are your favorite book couples?

let the swooning COMMENCE.

if i can't have Ron, at least kick-ass Hermione can.

Ron & Hermione (Harry Potter). OBVIOUSLY. i mean, i am pretty much in love with Ron Weasley but i would totally egg him on constantly and not provide any of the balance that Hermione does. at all. which is totally why they are an amazing book couple. they get each other AND they were friends first AND they both have unique qualities that fill in the other's flaws. 

Lizzie & Darcy (Pride and Prejudice). again, this is pretty obvis but they had to overcome so much to be together! some of it outside of their control, but most of it due to their own prejudices and pride. see what Jane Austen did there? she was a clever gal. anyway, Lizzie is intelligent and hilarious on her own and the slow burn relationship build up between her and Darcy is epic. also, his name is Fitzwilliam. how can i not swoon?

Todd and Viola (The Chaos Walking Trilogy). so you can safely assume that any list in the history of lists for the rest of eternity will include The Chaos Walking Trilogy in some way. mostly because it's the best series i've ever read (behind HP) and there are so many amazing elements and components and complexities that it just sticks to your ribs and roots into your heart. anyway, Todd and Viola are amazing individually and grow to depend on each other. their love changes and evolves and grows and questions all the time, just like real relationships do. i don't want to be spoilery with the books, but just trust me on this one. their relationship is one you need to experience.

Vera and Charlie (Please Ignore Vera Dietz). so this one is borderline, as they weren't actually a couple in the book.  but if you're read this book, you know that their relationship was special and complicated and tragic and ended FAR too soon. but sometimes that happens. and sometimes that sucks. but mostly it serves as a reminder to say what you need to say and pour yourself into every relationship.
